OU

The campus was interspersed with great sculptures.
University of Oklahoma, or OU has so much character, history and class.  Every person we talked to was helpful, kind and truly caring.  I was amazed at the students on and off campus.  They were polite, looked you in the eye and spoke distinctly.  Not that I have visited many college campuses lately, but I have dealt with college-age kids in SoCal.  My first question is what are they feeding these OU kids?  Not really, but what's up?  They all seemed genuinely glad to be speaking to me, and eager to please.  I kept looking around for  a camera, this had to be on camera, that is why they are being so nice, right?

I envy these kids.  What a place, what a beautiful place!
We rode the city bus to the OU campus to hang out, visit the library, eat lunch and explore.  The students that got on the bus were quiet, respectful and helpful.  My mind is, was and is still blown.  WOW.  Whatever they are doing, they are doing it right.  Many of the students had local jobs at the restaurants and shops and even they were beyond nice.  What a true pleasure it was to be there, and to mingle with these great kids.

Viewing the recessed garden which was invisible from afar.
As we self-toured the school, we were amazed at the beauty of the buildings, cleanliness of the grounds and those unique spots that endeared you even more to this place.  This was a place that was loved by it's students and faculty. To tell you the truth we all fell in love with it too.  We felt like we belonged, even though we didn't.  I did go to college, a little anyway, and it was nothing like this.

Now this is my kind of place to study!

Thanks OU for the great times.  We learned so much about the History of Norman, Oklahoma and most especially we learned a great lesson about people.  People will surprise you so watch out!  This was a good surprise, no, a great, wonderful and very pleasant surprise.

Go OU!
