The Flintstones

Yabba Dabba Dooooo!!!  Ha ha ha.  We had so much fun at the Flintstones Bedrock City in Williams, AZ.  We had just left a morning of hiking at the Grand Canyon and a wonderful night's stay on the rim.  We all felt like crying.  The fresh air, trees, wild animals were wonderful to behold.  Now coming down away from it all was so sad.  All we could talk about was when we were going to come back and what we were going to do the next time.

What I noticed first was a painted sign on the side of a building that said 5 cent coffee.  The sign looked ancient, so I thought it must be old and not valid anymore, but we stopped anyway just to see what was up.  What if it were true?  What if it was good coffee? Good coffee for 5 cents?  Had to check it out.
Then we noticed that it was Bedrock City home of the Flintstones!!!  Wow, double excitement.

I grew up a Flintstones kid.  I will admit it.  I LOVED the Flintstones, everything about them.  I remember when they had Pebbles and Bam-Bam.  I loved their names and how adorable they were. I loved Dino.  I loved the cars.  I love Barney and Wilma and Betty!  Such simple lines turned into masterpieces.  A true work of art.

So, turns out the coffee was actually one of the BEST on the whole trip!  They said it was Columbian.  It was so good that we decided we had to take the tour.
Boy are we so glad we did!  What a blast from the past.  I could only imagine how I would have felt as a child in that place.  It was almost better than Disneyland!  Seriously, the did a great job.  It would have been fun if they had a little Bedrock hotel attached with similar rooms, what fun! We surely would have stayed!
