Lupton, Arizona

Best Gift Shop - Best Fry Bread
We went into the Tipi shaped gift shop.  It looks small from the outside but when you go inside it's huge.  How do they do that?  The prices were great.  I wish I would have saved some money to get more souvenirs here.  Oh well, next time I will remember to buy my gifts here.  The people were very nice.  I asked if there was a good place to eat and they all chimed in and said that the truck stop right down the road had the BEST Navajo Tacos EVER.  They said to make sure and get just a half-order because I wouldn't be able to eat a whole order.  And they were right on both counts.  It was THE BEST Navajo Taco EVER and it was so big that it's best to eat just a half-order, especially when you are on the road.  I have thought of those Navajo Tacos many times since then, and have even schemed on how I could get one.  I guess I will just have to find a good recipe.

On our road-trips in the past we drove on by Lupton, not knowing what a treasure trove it was.  We won't be passing by this place anymore.  One definite stop on our future road-trips will be Speedy's Truck Stop and the Tomahawk Gift Shop.  There is a rest stop here too and an Arizona Visitor Center as well.
