Oklahoma University Library

OU's Library - North Entrance

We were told about the glass floors, which were very scary for me to walk on.  I kept thinking I was going down.  Also, we were told that the beautiful wood-work on the stairways were all hand-tooled.

It was a little spooky down some of those hall ways, and it seemed the sounds were very muted, so you couldn't tell if anyone else was around until you were upon them.

OH, how I would have loved to spend more time there, maybe like a year or more perusing the ancient books that were in excellent condition.  I can't remember how many floors we went up, it all seems like a maze and a little blurry in my memory.  I remember looking out into the courtyard below from a dizzying height through the branches of one of the biggest and healthiest magnolia trees I have ever seen.
